Thicket Bees has been around since 1958 under one name or another. For a long time we were simply Brown’s Bees. That name became a bit crowded with so many people with the name Brown, a lot like Smith and Jones there are a lot of us around. So, we changed the name to Thicket Bees shortly after the “Big Thicket National Preserve” was established seeing we live on one edge of the Big Thicket National Preserve as it surrounds us. I am the owner of Thicket Bees have been keeping bees since 1958 when I was 10 years old and was given my first two hives by a friend of the family.
